Max Padilla, 89, a resident of Ribera, NM, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Max was born on April 19, 1934, to Cosme and Cleotilde Padilla in Ribera, NM.
Max retired from BNSF Railroad after dedicating 45 years of service. Max enjoyed spending time with family, dancing with his wife, going to fiestas to listen to live music, attending church, hanging out at the Senior Citizens playing pool with his friends, Sunday cruising, and sitting on the porch visiting with compadres and primos. Max's most precious moments were spent with all his Grandchildren. Putting them on the bus and waiting for them to get home, attending their school functions and sporting events, and any other times he spent with them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cosme and Cleotilde Padilla. Brothers Augustine, Estevan, and Roberto Padilla and sister Merejilda Padilla. Grandson Gary Vigil and Great Grandson Tyler Padilla, father and mother-in-law Frank and Mary Sanchez, brother-in-law Alex Sanchez, and sister-in-law's Connie Brooker, Julia Hurtado, and Lydia Solis.
Max is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Padilla. Son Cosme Padilla (Terrie), Daughters: Annabel Vigil (Dennis), Dora Gallegos (Steve), Monica Sena (Martin), and Maxine Padilla (Jessie). Grandchildren, Steven Gallegos, Amanda Gallegos (Tony), Martin Sena Jr (Megan), Mariah Sena (Greg), Miranda Vigil (Johndavid), MaxxMarie and Jessie Lee Cordero, Cosme Padilla Jr (Erin), and Jeremy Padilla (Tiffany). Great Grandchildren, Bianca Gallegos (JD), Estevan Gallegos, Mickie Gallegos, Noah Sena, Myla Sena, Brielle, Gianna, NovaLee Deloris, Jayden Benavidez, Asura and Justice Griego, Logan Salazar, Shyanne Salazar, Braxton Padilla, Trenton Padilla, Lexi Padilla, Aunika Padilla, and Ryker Padilla. Great Great Grandchildren Ahlani and Ariah Yara-Gallegos. His loving sister Trinidad Tapia, brother-in-law, Frank Sanchez (Ramona), Robert Sanchez (Josie), Arthur Sanchez (Joanne), Paul Sanchez, David Sanchez (Theresa), and Andy Sanchez. Sister-in-Law Dora Sanchez.
Services will be held at San Miguel Del Vado Church, with Rosary being recited on April 18, 2024 at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by burial at San Miguel Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Martin Sena Sr, Steve Gallegos, Dennis Gonzales, Jessie Cordero, Steven Gallegos, and Martin Sena Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren.
