Milton J. Gentry Jr. (Sonny)

Milton Gentry Jr, 80, a resident of Las Vegas, NM and a lifelong resident of Watrous, NM, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, November 23, 2023 in Las Vegas, NM.

He was born on July 21, 1943 to Milton Gentry Sr. and Isa Gutierrez Gentry in Las Vegas, NM.

Milton was united in marriage to Dolores Dominguez on June 26, 1965 in Watrous, NM.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Milton was a 1962 graduate of Robertson High School, where he played football and ran track and field. After a successful career with the Department of Agriculture-Soil Conservation Service, Milton retired and became a foster parent for many years.

Milton enjoyed hunting, playing baseball, spending time with family and friends and following the Robertson Cardinals in football.

Milton is preceded in death by his parents, Milton Gentry Sr. and Isa Gentry; sisters Ramona Lucero,  Charlotte (Shirley) Chavez and Mary Jane Gentry; brother Solomon Gentry.

Milton is survived by his wife Dolores Gentry; daughters Veronica Gentry and Dajsha Gentry; son Frederick Gentry; grandchildren Amanda Gentry and Amber Gonzales; brother Kenneth Gentry; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date at the Shoemaker Cemetery near Watrous, NM.
