Obituary

Mychele Rene Lord, 61, passed away on February 26th, 2026 while enjoying time at her ranch outside of Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Mychele was born July 21, 1964 to Ronald and Gary Ann Lord and grew up in Kerrville, Texas. She grew up with her parents and her beloved brother, Casey, sharing a close family bond that shaped her life. Mychele held a deep and enduring love for her family, a connection that remained one of the most meaningful parts of her life.

She attended Tivy High School in Kerrville and graduated in 1982. Mychele then attended Schreiner College from 1982 to 1984, where she played basketball for the Schreiner Lady Mountaineers. She truly loved her time on the court and the camaraderie of being part of a team, forming friendships that remained meaningful to her long after her college years. In 1984, she continued her studies at Texas A&M University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in finance from the College of Business Administration in 1986.

Mychele was extremely driven, passionate, energetic, and a true "go getter". When she put her mind to something, she would immediately spring into action to make it happen! Throughout her career in commercial real estate, she held many roles including property manager, leasing agent, financial analyst, director of property management, asset manager, and business development executive.

What truly sparked her passion was the integration of nature, the environment and commercial real estate. She loved telling the story of a career test she once took that said she was meant to be a park ranger. In many ways, she carried that calling into her work, becoming what she fondly referred to as an"urban park ranger".

Mychele served as Executive Managing Director, Client Services and member of the Board of Directors at Transwestern where she continued to follow her ignited spark for sustainability through industry involvement and book publications in partnership with organizations such as the US Green Building Certification Council (USGBC) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). She also served as chair of BOMA's Energy & Environment Committee and was honored as a "Sustainability Visionary" with the 2008 BOMA International Chairman's Award.

In 2007, Mychele founded her own commercial real estate sustainability consulting firm, LORD Green Strategies. She built a highly successful business with an impressive team of rockstar employees and a distinguished roster of clients.

After Mychele sold her company in 2022, she spent the last several years thoroughly enjoying retirement and rediscovering herself. She traveled the world, spent cherished time at her ranch in New Mexico restoring the land there after the wildfires, and continued to dedicate herself to causes she cared deeply about, and most of all treasured the company of her dearest friends.

Mychele was incredibly philanthropic and generous with both her time and resources, actively supporting and uplifting communities in Dallas and New Mexico.

Mychele is preceded in passing by her mother, Gary Ann Lord; her father, Ronald Lord; her brother, Casey Steven Lord; and her nephews, Dylan Kirk Lord and Brendon Steven Lord. She is survived by her cousin Michael ("Mack") Lord; his daughter, Chelsea Ruby Lord Edwards; Chelsea's two children; and numerous cousins and dear friends who loved her deeply.

Mychele will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her generosity, her unwavering commitment to making the world and the communities around her better places, and her joyful enthusiasm for life—including her well-known habit of ordering every dessert on the menu.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 29th at 12pm at the Mars Hill Farm 1601 Mars Rd Ferris, TX 75125.
