Orlando Manuel Martinez, age 60, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.
He was born on October 12, 1949 to the late Jose Martinez and Catarina Trujillo Martinez.
He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed reading, cooking, yard work, and spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Jose and Catarina Martinez; brothers: Leo Martinez, and Nick Martinez; nephews: Roger Martinez and Reynaldo Martinez.
He is survived by his brothers: David Martinez and wife Mary of Las Vegas, NM and John Martinez and wife Pat of Albuquerque, NM ; sisters: Eva Aragon of Las Vegas, NM, Agnes Aragon of Albuquerque, NM, Mary Lou Gallegos and husband Charlie of Albuquerque, NM, and Betty Martinez of Las Vegas, NM; special nephews: Gerald Martinez and wife Rita of Las Vegas, NM, and Ron Martinez and his son Damian of Santa Fe, NM; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm with the following serving as casket bearers: Josh Llamas, Devon Ortega, Damian Martinez, Miguel Martinez, Issac Torres, Andy Aragon, Danny Aragon, and Ramos Aragon.
