Obituary

Paul Garduno, 55 passed away October 16, 2023 at his home in Las Vegas, New Mexico. A beloved grandfather, father, brother, spouse and a pillar of our community who will be greatly missed.

He was a proud graduate of West Las Vegas High School, and lifelong dedicated fan. He was an avid collector of Coca Cola antiques and memorabillia, dedicating his living room to his collection.

Paul was born on August 24, 1968 to Pete and Gurtrude Garduno. His journey through life was characterized by his tenacity and unyielding work ethic. During his 24-year employment with Bueno Foods, Inc. He served many in our community making very many friends, some who were just like family to him. He poured his heart and soul into his responsibility to his customers, gaining profound respect for him in this community. He never gave up a chance to extend a helping hand to someone in need.

He had many lifelong friends, all of whom stayed close throughout the years. Paul loved being the center of attention, always quick with a joke, most times many jokes, that always had everyone laughing.

Paul is preceded in death by his father Pete Garduno and Mother Marilla (Tula) Dominguez Garduno, his Grandparents Geronimo Garduno, Antonia Garcia Garduno, Matias Dominguez, Lucia Garcia Dominguez. His padrinos Manuel & Ernestine Benavidez, Padrino Santiago Dominguez. His incredibly special Tia Ofelia G. Rivera and Ruben Rivera.

Paul loved family gatherings, always making sure to keep family traditions going. His departure leaves a void in our lives, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts. His love, his hard work, and his dedication to family and community will serve as a guiding light for all of us. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Herrera, his son Brandon and Daughter Lauren Garduno (Leo Montoya III). He has three beautiful grandchildren, Hailey, Analee and Leo Montoya IV. His special Godson John (Bubba) Griego, and his dad, Paul's nephew, John Griego and niece Sarah Griego. His brother Peter Garduno and wife Sylvia, Sister Barbara Griego and husband Fidencio, his close brother Christy Garduno and wife Lorraine. His special uncle Martin Dominguez and wife Corrine. Numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and nephews and a great grandniece.

Rosary devotional services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Interment will follow at the San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 3:00-5:00pm at Rogers Mortuary.

Information to add: Providing the eulogy will be his lifelong friend Gary Gold, serving as Pallbearers are Marvin Loera, Chris Barela, Joe (Smiley) Martinez, Matt Cordova, Paul Sandoval, Benny Marquez, John Griego and Frank Lucero.

Honorary Pallbearers are Louis Gonzales, Mark Montoya, Mike Gutierrez, Stephanie Griego, Melanie Griego, Jason Garduno, Leo Montoya III, and Stephanie Gallegos.
