Pauline "Polly"
Aragon Trujillo
April 27, 1942 – August 25, 2025
Pauline "Polly" Aragon Trujillo, born April 27, 1942, in San Ignacio, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend whose tenacity for life, love of family, and boundless generosity touched everyone she encountered.
Pauline lived a full and wonderful life. She proudly cared for her children as a housewife until her youngest was ready for school. She then began working for the West Las Vegas School District and, coincidentally, was able to secure a position at the same school her youngest attended—North Public Elementary. She served as the school's secretary for several years and was often recognized for her dedication and diligence. As the years passed, she advanced to the position of Secretary to the Superintendent, who at the time was Jose F. Lopez.
Thereafter, she continued on to work for the City of Las Vegas Housing Authority and for San Miguel County for several years.
Pauline loved and enjoyed politics. Ever the Democrat, she enjoyed working the local elections, and took pride in having her ballot boxes turned in before any other precincts.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jose Ruben Trujillo; her parents, Melaquias and Regina (Padilla) Aragon; Brothers Bernie Aragon, Gilbert Aragon, and Melaquias Aragon; and sisters Helen Dimas, Pita Almanzar, Bernice Garcia, Tina Singletary, and Dorothy Maestas.
Pauline is survived by her sister Sally Gonzales (Renee) of Cudahy, Wisconsin; her daughter, Debi Lucero (Frank) of Watrous, New Mexico; her sons, Ruben R. Trujillo (Ida) of Dallas, Texas, and Thomas Paul Trujillo (Tom) of Las Vegas, New Mexico; and her grandchildren, Gabriel Skees (Star) of Espanola, New Mexico; Ruben Michael Trujillo (Kat) of Dallas, Texas; Tara Trujillo (Mandi) of Dallas, Texas; and Matthew Trujillo of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pauline's life was a true testament to the values of hard work, love of family and friends, and kindness toward others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
Mass for Ruben and Polly will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Celebrant Rob Yaksich. Interment will follow at Mt.
