Pearl was born July 24, 1934 to Leandro and Aurora (Lola) Herrera in Sierra Bonita, New Mexico and passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 in Las Vegas, NM.
Pearl Married George Garcia December 1, 1951. She worked as a sewing instructor and Help New Mexico in her early years while raising her family. She Retired from NMBHI in 1994 and later went on to be a Foster Grandparent, aka Grandma Pearl, for the Mora Independent Schools retiring in September 2022.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George, her parents, Sister Clorinda, Arlene, and Brother Adrian. Son Johnny, Clarence and infant daughter Bernadette, Son in law, Arcenio Lujan, Grandson Louie Grine, Great Grandson Isaac Garcia and great granddaughter Ava Garcia. Bother in law Joe (Helen), Epimenio, Manuel, Luis (Clarise) Garcia, Sister in law Mabel (Jack) and special niece Georgia Reyes.
Pearl is survived by her children, George (Jeanette), Rita (Fred), Delma (Elias), Darlene (Eddie), Jake (Leena), Carlos (Bonnie), Merlene (John), Aggie (Cip).Special Granddaughter/Daughter Lynn Padilla . Sisters Frances and Florence, Sisters in law, Aurora Herrera, Angie, Priscilla and Dolores (Phil). 34 Grandchildren, 54 Greaqt Grandchildren, and 9 Great, great, Grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 23, 2025at 7:00 pm and Funeral Monday, March 24, 2025 at 10:00 am both serviceswill be at St. Gertrude Church in Mora, New Mexico with Father Dale Craig S.O.L.T. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Camposanto De Guadalupita Cemetery in Guadalupita, NM with the following serving as Pallbearers Gene Garcia, J.R. Garcia, Frankie Garcia, Jonathan Casados, Johnny Ray Garcia, Benny Grine, Kenneth Trujillo and Justin Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be A.J. Lujan, Antonio Padilla and her remaining grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
