Peliaga Tafoya, 96, a lifelong resident of Ancon, NM passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023. She was born to Agneda and Alfredo Rivera on June 25, 1927. She was raised by her parents Celia Benavidez and Perfecto Lucero.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Desiderio Tafoya; grandson, David Louis Lovato; brother, Ricky Rivera and sister, Lola Rivera.

She survived by her sons, Wilfred Tafoya, David Tafoya (Mayra), Ray Tafoya (Kathy), and Phillip Tafoya; daughter, Margie Garza (Jerry) and also Floriada Gutierrez. She leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2024 at 8:15 a.m. at the San Miguel del Vado Church in San Miguel, NM. A Rosary will follow at 9:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately.

Burial following the mass will be at the San Jose Cemetery in San Jose, NM where the following will serve as Pallbearers; Wilfred Tafoya Jr., Jerry Garza, Tomas Vigil Jr., Prudencio Gallegos, Bryan Roybal and Carlos Ortiz.
