Petra Aragon, age 86, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Alta Vista Hospital in Las Vegas, NM.

She was born on June 26, 1936 to Camilo and Camila Baca in Serafina,NM. She worked at the Parachute Factory, Newberrys, JC Penney's and Southwest Senior care.

Her hobbies included quilting, embroidery, crocheting, reading and dancing. She was a member of the Senior Center sewing club. In her earlier years she was a competitive bowler, avid angler and hunter. She had an immense love for all her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Petra is preceded in death by her parents: sons: Samuel Aragon and Alex Aragon; daughter: Shirley Aragon; granddaughter Shirley Aragon; brothers: Alfonso Baca, Miguel Baca and Ben Baca; sister: Luisa Martinez.

She is survived by her children: Dennis Aragon (Brenda) of Las Vegas, NM, Joseph Aragon (Agnes) of Mora, NM, Beatrice Yee (Leonard) and Alvin Aragon (Christine) both of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren: Scott, Justin, Dennis, Ryan, Patricia, Jeremiah, Kimberly, Jason, Justin, Jennifer, Olivia, Christopher and Zachary; great grandchildren: Julius, Jarvis, Riley, Samantha, Amaris and Silas; brothers: Joe Baca (Carol) of Serefina, NM and Richard Baca (Virginia) of Serefina, NM; sister: Susanna Bustamante of Pueblo, CO; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 8:30am funeral mass will follow both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Nuestra Senora de Rosario Cemetery in La Lagunita, NM with the following serving as Pallberars Olivia Yee, Christopher Yee, Zachary Yee, Kimberly Aragon, Jason Marquez, Ryan Aragon. Honorary Pallbearer Jeremiah Aragon.
