Phillip John Martinez, 61, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Phillip was born on June 19,1963, in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Melaquias (Mel) and Isabel (Bella) Martinez.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Mel and Bella Martinez, paternal grandparents, Melaquias and Eleanor Martinez, maternal grandparents, Frank and Cleotilde Maestas and brother Lawrence Martinez. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Martinez, his children, Charles Martinez (Michelle Valdez) and Angelica Rumley (Danny Lee Rumley), his stepchildren, Jacquelyn and Nathan Searcy, his grandchildren, Andres (Tino) Martinez, John Martinez, Annalicia Martinez, Nicholas Martinez, Andres Martinez, Violet Isabella Rumley and Evander Lee Rumley, his brothers, Ralph (Karla), Steven (Donna) and Ruben (Carla) and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Phillip worked in the construction industry right out of high school and for Franken Construction Company for 30 years. He was involved with the Chamber of Commerce as well as other community programs. Phillip loved being involved and giving back to his community. He was always helping others with whatever they needed. He worked tirelessly in this regard. Phillip's presence brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered and his passing will be mourned deeply by everyone that knew and loved him. His memory will remain in the hearts of family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rosary Devotional Services will be recited Friday, September 27, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. both services to be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM with Fr. Dennis Garcia as celebrant and the following serving as pallbearers: John Martinez, Michael Valdez, Diego Martinez, Gene Parson, Jacob Martinez, Harold Garcia, Quirino Baca and Dante Vigil. Cremation will take place after services and burial will take place at a later time.
