Rafaela Quirinita Porter

Rafaela Porter, 84, died peacefully May 2, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Rafaela was born September 7, 1939 to Patricio Trujillo and Anne Martinez Trujillo of Cleveland, New Mexico.

In her life she participated in many organizations that focused on helping others including Legion of Mary and St. Vincent De Paul. She was kind, selfless and loving to all who knew her. Many people in Mora County referred to her as Grandma Porter.

Rafaela will be greeted in Heaven by her parents Patricio and Anne Trujillo, her grandsons James Porter and Antonio Larranaga, and late husband Jake Porter, Sr.

She is survived by her children: Regina Larranaga, Jake Porter, Linda Porter (Dennis), Jimmy Porter (Mavia) and Jessica Villanueva (Eric). Grandchildren: Celina Porter (Kiahle), Jade Porter, Jordyn Porter, Jordan Gonzales and Melody Maestas (Roberto). Great Grandchildren: Antonio Porter (Kaitlyn), Eric C. Villanueva, Ellyanna Villanueva, Emma Villanueva, Nick Apodaca (Kiana), JJ Apodaca, and Adam Shelton. Siblings: Pat Trujillo, Carmen Bishop (Herman), Celina Saavedra (Antonio), Lydia Trujillo, Lencho Trujillo, Faustin Trujiilo (Liz), and Lucy Trujillo. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many friends.

Rosary service will be recited on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 4:00pm. Funeral mass will be conducted on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 9:00am both services will be conducted at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. Interment will follow at San Antonio Cemetery in Cleveland, NM with the following serving as pallbearers are: Antonio Porter, Eric Villanueva, Kiahle Swaziek, Nick Apodaca, Jordan Gonzales, Dennis Barela, Richard Bishop and Adam Shelton. Serving as honorary pallbearers are: Jade Porter, Jordyn Porter, Eric C. Villanueva, Ellyanna Villanueva, Emma Villanueva, Celina Porter, Melody Maestas and Ralph Saavedra and JJ Apodaca.
