On February 20, 2024, Randy D. Peña passed away in Amarillo, Texas, after an extended illness. He was 60 years old. Mr. Peña is the son of Luis Peña and Rose Esther Romero. He was born on October 1, 1963. He is the grandson of Eisabel Peña and Matilde Sanchez and Simon Romero and Pita Sanchez, and the great-grandson of Teodoro Peña and Margarita Lopez, and Canuto Sanchez and Francisca Vigil. He lived in Las Vegas, New Mexico for the majority of his life. He lived the last few years in Roy, New Mexico.

Mr. Peña graduated from Robertson High School in 1981 and attended New Mexico Highlands University. Mr. Peña was well known within the community as he prepared tax documents for many members of our community.

Mr. Peña was predeceased by his parents, Luis and Rose Peña, brother Allen Peña, sister Judy Peña, grandparents Simon and Pita Romero, Eisabel and Matilde Peña, uncles Tony Romero, Simon Romero, Jr., Margarito Peña, Amadeo Peña, Ernesto Peña, and aunts Rosita Branch, Lucia Peña, Gregorita Peña, Tillie Peña and Isabela Davison.

Mr. Peña is survived by two aunts Conferina Maria Clayton and Teodorita Branch and numerous cousins.

The rosary devotional services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 7:00 pm. The mass will be celebrated by Father Dennis Garcia at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 9:00 am. Pallbearers are Tino Martinez, Charlie Gallegos, Arnold Gutierrez, Manuel Espinoza, Andrew Lovato, Michael Peña, Rodney Clayton, Stella Clayton and Thomas Clayton. Burial will follow at the St. Anthony Cemetery.
