Richard Phil Salas, loving husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and retire pilot, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1954.

Richard proudly served in US Army rising to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4). He flew G12 and UH-60 Black Hawk. In his career he was awarded several honors including three Meritorious Service Medals and several Commendation Medals, as well as two Army Achievement Medals among others.

After military service Richard continued to fly for FedEx until his retirement where he earned several medals with FedEx as well, one of which was Line Check Airman.

Due to his professionalism Richard also mentored numerous pilots throughout his career.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Petra Salas.

Richard was a loving husband to May Ann Butas Martinito; father to Jennifer (Connley) Hamm; grandfather to Mason L., Wyatt J., and Gatlin W. Hamm; brother to Robert, Clarence, Mario Salas, Beth Sides and their families, who survive him.

Memorial service will be on  Friday, June 20, 2025 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
