Robert Dimas

We are saddened to announce the passing of Robert Dimas, age 76, a resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico. Robert passed away peacefully on April 19th, 2026, surrounded by his family. Robert was born April 25th, 1949, in Las Vegas, NM to Jose Dimas and Esquipulita Montoya-Dimas.

Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, and his keen sense of humor. Robert found joy in making others laugh, caring for and helping others, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering at the local Samaritan House.

Robert attended Luna Community College for Auto mechanics and went on to work at Mongomery Ward as a mechanic until he moved on finding his passion as a CNA. He then worked at Southwest Senior Care, Vida Encantada, and the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute. Robert was a profound caretaker and was complimented on his patience, kindness, and hard-working drive.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose Dimas and Esquipulita Montoya-Dimas, daughter Stephanie Dimas, and siblings Jesus Dimas, and Delma Paiz.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Frances Dimas; his children, Rosanne Dimas (Karl Sena), Roberta Dimas (Antoine Whitfield); his 4 grandchildren, Phelisha Dimas, Andy Lovato, Wayne Lovato (Belle Hazelitt), Joe Lovato; and 3 great-grandchildren, Laila Lopez, Raelynn Lovato, and Ziarah Lopez.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 30th, 2026, at 10:00am at Mountain View Church of Christ (53 Mountain View Drive) with Pastor Jimmy Quintana as officiant. Cremation following services and burial will be at a later date. Serving as Pallbearers: Julian Lopez, Karl Sena, Bobby Ortiz, Roman Martinez, Gilbert Paiz, Anthony Marquez, Leroy Montano Jr, Jerry Dimas, Louie Padilla and Honorary Pallbearers: Andy Lovato, Wayne Lovato, Joe Lovato.
