Robert Romero, 66 of Las Vegas, NM, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2023. He was born on December 16, 1956 to the late Jose D. Romero and the late Ofelia Gomez-Romero of Las Vegas N.M.

Robert was a graduate of Robertson High School Class of 1974. He went on to receive his RN and retired   from NMBHI as a RN in 2004. Robert loved music! He was the lead singer of the band Maximo whom he played with his late brother Remi Romero. He was a member of the Elks Lodge where he loved playing pool with family and friends. He enjoyed getting together with family and just hanging out and having a good time. Robert was a loving Husband, father, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend, but most of all he was the most loving Grandpa to his Lilly Bear and his Bubba Leandro.

Robert is preceded in death by his Father; Jose D. Romero, Mother; Ofelia Gomez-Romero, Brother; Remi Romero, Sister; Lore Lucero, Father In-Law; Moises Solano, Brother In-Laws; Lawrence, Eddie, Archie, Moises, Dennis and Leonard Solano.

He is survived by his Wife Shirley Solano-Romero of 34 years, Sons; Mathew Solano(Katie), Adrian Romero(Robin) both of Las Vegas, NM and Martin Romero(Melissa) of Trinidad CO, Grandchildren; Lillian and Leandro Solano, Miranda and Mateo Salazar, Mother In-Law; Lila Solano, Sisters; Patsy Paynter(Manuel), Maria Tarango(Manuel), Antonia Garduno(Danny), Oralia Romero, Brother In-Law; Michael Solano(Ken), Sister In-Laws; Joann Gomez(Silviano), Cristina Humrich(Michael), Maryann Ness(Phil), Marylue Bulinski, Cathy Keeney, Ruby Barrett, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary services will be conducted on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 9:00am with both services to be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas NM with Father Augustin Henderson as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM with the following to serve as Pallbearers, Joe Gomez, Freddie Gomez, Theodore Marquez, Lawrence Padilla, Michael Sandoval, Mateo Salazar, Marvin Sandoval, and Johnny Solano. Honorary Pallbearers are Rene Gomez, Catalina Gomez, Donna Tarango, Tristan Padilla and Leonard Marquez.
