Roger Samuel Romero, age 37, a longtime resident of Chacon and Guadalupita, NM passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

Roger was born on June 9, 1985 to Veronica M. Vigil of Chacon, NM and Roger L. Romero of Guadalupita, NM.

Roger is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Martha Gonzales of Chacon, NM and his paternal grandfather, Sam Romero of Guadalupita, NM.

Roger is survived by his children: Isaiah, Ellianna, and Adelaido Romero; his parents: Veronica Vigil and Roger Romero; his step-father: Joseph Vigil; his siblings: George Romero (Wendy Cels) of Grants, NM, Jessica Gonzales (Gene) of Albuquerque, NM, and Julia Romero of Grants, NM; his maternal grandfather: Ernesto Gonzales of Chacon, NM; his paternal grandmother: Leanor Romero of Guadalupita, NM; his maternal great-grandmother: Nora Lopez of Chacon, NM.  Roger is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Roger was an avid outdoor sports enthusiast and he especially loved snowboarding and fishing.  Those who knew Roger best would summarize him as being caring, down-to-earth, friendly to everyone he encountered, genuine, and respectful.  He created bonds with many people from all walks of life and impacted so many people in such a positive way.  His smile and laugh were contagious and will be deeply missed.  Roger's passing leaves a void that no other person will be able to fill – he was truly one-of-a-kind.

A rosary devotional service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 7:00PM at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora, NM.  A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 1:30PM at St. Gertrude's Church.  Serving as pallbearers are Isaiah Romero, George Romero, Josh Romero, Brandon Roper, Javon Maestas and Johnny Montano. Honorary Pallbearer will be Rosanna Medina. Burial services will be held directly after mass on Wednesday in Chacon, NM.
