Our beloved brother in Christ Roland Benavidez, 66, of San Juan, NM, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

He was rich in faith; ACTS brother member, involved in marriage enrichment and taught catechism. Roland was a master auto body technician for 32 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, was an excellent craftsman and incredible artist. He took pride in his cooking and loved to try new recipes for his family he loved so dearly. He will always be loved and missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Genaro Benavidez and Margarita Benavidez; Sisters, Ernestine Ortiz and Mabel Flores.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Marcella Benavidez; Daughters, Mary Benavidez (Daniel), Theresa Padilla (Joe), Miranda Rivera (Sydney) and Leandra Benavidez (Darren). He had no sons but nephew, Ralph Ortiz, was like a son to him. Grandchildren, Angelica Marquez, Alyssa Benavidez (Ralph), Xavier Padilla, and Jodaiah Padilla (Unica); Great grandchildren, Kryslynn Gonzalez and Lucas Romero; Godsons, Joe Padilla, Patrick Martinez, Jr., Julian Flores, and Jodaiah Padilla; Goddaughter, Leandra Benavidez; Siblings, Carol Lopez, Cecilia (Jimmy), Jerry (Linda) Benavidez, and Ramon (Amanda) Benavidez; Brother-in-law, Gene Romero and Sister-in-law, Lucille Salazar. He was an amazing uncle to 26 nieces and nephews.

A rosary service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 9:30 a.m., followed by mass of Christian burial at San Miguel Del Vado Church in San Miguel, NM. Interment will follow at the San Juan Cemetery with the following serving as Pallbearers, Xavier Padilla, Jodaiah Padilla, Ralph Ortiz, Ben Gonzales, Les Martinez, Bobby Garcia, Julian Flores, and Patrick Martinez, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are, Joe & Theresa Padilla, Darren Armijo, Leandra Benavidez, Sidney Sena, Miranda Rivera, Ralph Lopez, Alyssa Benavidez, Angelica Marquez, Daniel Good, and Mary Benavidez.
