Rose (Rosie) Olivas, 94 a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, peacefully passed away on May 30th 2024 in Arizona.  She was born in Delagua Colorado to Frank and Louise Lucero.

Rosie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luis (Louie) Olivas of Las Vegas NM.

Rose and Louie were united in holy matrimony and their blessed union spanned nearly 76 years.

Rosie is survived by her beloved sister Marcella Montoya (Eloy) of Buena Vista, her only daughter,  Anita Olivas-Montoya (Raymond),  her sons, Arthur of Santa Fe NM , Alfred (Vickey) of Algondones NM, and Andrew (Nancy) of Las Cruces NM,.

She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren including Sophia Rose, Isabella Grace and Emilia Marie whom she loved dearly and found great joy.

A rosary will be held on Wednesday July 31st at 6pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church followed by a Mass on Thursday August 1st at 9am also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

The burial service will take place on Friday August 2nd at 2pm at the Santa Fe National cemetery in Santa Fe New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rosie's name can be made to The Arbor Day Foundation, The Cancer Society, or The Dementia Foundation, honoring her compassionate spirit and love for nature and humanity.
