It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of our mother Rosie R. Padilla. Rosie Passed away on May 14, 2022 at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Rosie was born in Leadville Colorado on October 29, 1932 to Lillia C. Lovato and Florentino Montez.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Agustin J. Padilla, her mother Lillia C. Lovato, Step-Father Jose N Martinez, daughters Pauline Padilla, and Mary Padilla, son Bobby Padilla, grandchildren Alexandra Costelon, Sonya M. Montoya, John Edward Sanchez, Crestina De la Cruz, Renee Padilla, and Enoch De la Cruz. Sons-in-law Jose Herminio Montoya & Frank Costelon. Father-in-law and Mother-In-Law Melaquias and Crestina Padilla.
Rosie will be lovingly remembered by Her children Elizabeth Montoya, Andy Padilla (Matilda), Mary Jean Sanchez, Joanne Padilla Salas (Dennis), Agustin Padilla, J R., Lillian Robles (Pete), George Padilla (Renee), granddaughters that she raised, Angelica De la Cruz (Esteban) and Agusta Rodriguez Asi (George), Aunt Stella Magdaleno and Family, Daughters in law Tonie Padilla, Arleen Romero. Rosie is also survived by her sisters-in-Law Priscilla Romero (Adelaido) Jenny Quintana (Carlos) ErlindaFernández (George), special nephew Danny Quintana (Veronica) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, greatgreat grandchildren and nieces and nephews. We would also like to recognize Grandpo Joe's Family, who have always been very special to Rosie. Especially Rose Martinez, Josephine Martinez, Julie Martinez, and the rest of the Martinez Family.
Rosie was The loving matriarch of the Padilla family. She devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Rosie was a kind, loving, and a cheerful person that opened her home and her heart to anyone in need. She had many friends and loved to visit or chat with them When any chance was presented To her; whether it be at Walmart or any community events. Rosie loved all friends of her children and grandchildren. She had a huge heart for everyone that she met and never forgot them.
Rosie loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Rosie is now at peace surrounded by family members who have passed before her.
Pallbearers are David Padilla, Joshua Montoya Gandert, Francisco Padilla, Justin Romero, Marcos Robles, Alexander Padilla, Mario De La Cruz, and Danny Quintana. Honorary Pallbearers are the remainder of her grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Cleveland, NM.
Burial will follow at Church of Christ Cemetery in Holman, NM.
