Ruben Paul Romero
(March 5, 1959 – September 20, 2022)
We are sad to announce the passing of Ruben Romero (63) on Tuesday September 20, 2022 in Las Vegas, NM.
Ruben was an exceptional man. He had a strong character and a welcoming heart. He was a generous man, always lending a helping hand to those in need. Ruben truly loved and respected the wilderness and wildlife. He always enjoyed being outdoors whether it was at the Ranch or out in the mountains of Colorado during his years with the Forestry Service. He enjoyed going hunting every year for deer and made some of the best Carne Seca. While growing up he spent many seasons out at the rodeo roping, riding broncos, and more with his family. He excelled at wrestling while attending Robertson High School becoming the first State Champion at the school, two years in a row. He was a jokester and prankster with his friends and family, throughout his life he was usually up to something. He had a great sense of humor, and a youthful soul. He raised his daughters and was the best dad they could ever ask for, always taking them to the ranch, or playing rodeo with them, or video games.Ruben couldn't be happier than the day he became a grandfather. He really cherished the time he spent with his grandsons. He worked for Diamond Pro Pest Control for the past 22 years, making him a local celebrity in town. Ruben was also a dedicated son to his parents, assisting them with whatever they wanted or needed. He was a good man, a trusted friend, a kind brother, a devoted son, a kindhearted uncle, a caring partner, and a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed, heaven is blessed to have received a man so loving.
