Sarah Isabel Madrid, 76 from Las Vegas, NM and formerly from Ribera, New Mexico, passed away October 6, 2026. She was born January 17, 1950 to Carlos and Veneranda Medina.

Our Sarita was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. She loved to stop and talk with her friends and to almost everyone she met! She loved the outdoors and rode horseback for several years, but most of all she loved her Pepsi!! Sarita retired after 40+ years in public school education.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Veneranda Medina, Stepfather, Ray A. Lopez, Husband, Raymond G. Madrid I, Partner, Tony Abeyta, Brother, Carlos Medina, Sisters, Patsy Montoya and Nicole Gonzalez, Nieces, Vanessa Medina, Stacy Ortega and Courtney Martinez.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Antoinette (Frank) Cory Ray. Raymond (Susana) Nick, Jasmine, Mia Jean, Sean, Kayla. Carlos (Marlin) Briana, Maryssa, Samantha, Charie Jo, Carter, Keira, Lucas Izayah. Lance Madrid. Siblings: Dolores Sena, Katie Ortega, MaryAnn Salazar, Becky Medina, Carla Miller (Mike), Chuck Medina, Kenny Medina (Dolores), Maria Medina (Nick). Her many nieces and nephews that she loved so much and especially Emily and Carlos that called her “Grandma Auntie” Sarah.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 6:00pm, funeral mass will be conducted on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 9:00am both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Burial of cremains will follow at San Jose Cemetery in San Jose, NM.
