Simon Maestas Jr., 80, a resident of Rio Rancho formerly of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque.

Simon was a good Father and an amazing Grandfather, who will be greatly missed by his family. Simon served in the US Army. He enjoyed watching his old western shows, fishing and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marylou Maestas; infant daughter and son; parents, Simon and Placida Maestas, Sr.; brothers, Joe Maestas and Johnny Maestas.

He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Maestas; stepchildren, Shane (Monique) Sena, Joey (Georgette) Sena, and Brenda Sena; grandchildren, Angel (Siera) DeHerrera, Destiny (George) McAlear, Jericka (Jorge) Sanchez and Benisha Sanchez. He has several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM beginning with a Rosay at 9:00 am, followed immediately by a Mass of Chrisitan burial. Interment will be held at 12:30 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
