Steve Paul Jordan, age 55, a longtime resident of Gallinas Canyon, NM passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
He was born in Cleveland, Mississippi on September 17, 1965 to Donald Joseph Jordan and Clara Benavidez Jordan.
A Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM.
Steve served in the United States Marine Corp where he traveled the world after graduating in the top of his platoon at boot camp. After returning home, Steve became a beloved UPS man in the community where he gave, as he said, 110% every day. Steve lived life large, as he would let you know, regardless if you were his lifelong friend or new to the community. The gate to his home was open to all, a place where you could share your life with him. He truly loved to experience life with people and bring them together. Steve had a way of creating relationships with people where he would make you feel like the most special person in the world. He extended his family by taking in those in need as a Foster parent, doing all he could to improve each child's life that made their way to the family home. With the Fraternal Order of Eagles, he served as President of the organization and gave his all to create a thriving and welcoming organization. Steve loved to work around the Jordan Ranch in Gallinas, his special home and piece of paradise. He enjoyed rides with his wife on his Harley, skiing with his children and their many friends, evenings with his brothers and sisters, Sunday mass with his father, praying with his mother and sharing his love with those willing to accept it.
He is preceded in death by his: Maternal grandparents: Avedona and Miguel Benavidez, paternal grandparents: Fran "Mimi" Manley and Andrew "Lucky" Jordan, his California mom: Claudia Provost, uncles: Benjamin and Bobby Benavidez, Jimmy and Rocky Jordan, and Lloyd Hickman, mother-in-law: Tillie Gonzales, Special Friends: Sean Peres, William "Billy Jack" Reeves, Eric Ortiz, Stephen Sanchez, Maria Paiz, and Lacy Houdek.
He is survived by his wife: Lori Jordan of the family home; sons and daughter: Brandyn Jordan of Albuquerque, NM; Briana Jordan of the family home; Bradlee Jordan (Alondra) of San Diego, CA; step-daughter: Evanne Sandoval and family of Denver, CO: mother: Clara Jordan and Mike Maestas of Los Lunas, NM; father: JD Jordan and Lucy Kemm of Las Vegas, NM; sister: Donna Jordan -Allen of Salt Lake, Utah; twin brother: Gary David Jordan (Liz) brother: Jonathon Jordan (Sharon) all of Gallinas Canyon; sister: Patricia Jordan of Albuquerque, NM; father-in-law: Fred Gonzales of Sena, NM; aunts and uncles: Vicky Hickman of Albuquerque, NM; Maria Brewer (John) of Dallas, TX; Maureen Rogers of Griffith, Indiana, Betty Farres (Bobby) of Counce, TN; Horacio Benavidez, and Tony Benavidez (Cathy) both of Montezuma, NM; brothers-in-law: Albert and Liz Gallegos of Deming, NM; Steve and Dora Gallegos of Ribera, NM; Donald and Lucille Gallegos of Albuquerque, NM; Jonathon and Patricia Gonzales of San Jose, NM; David and Stephanie Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM; nieces and nephews: Joseph Jordan-Allen, Jazminn Jordan-Allen, Ezekiel Jordan, Kendell Jordan, Zebadiah Jordan and Nathan Klein,(Justine) Zachary Jordan, Hunter Jordan, Mariah Jordan, Jezzria Jordan-Lowery, Kenyen Jordan-Lowery, Erica Hernandez (Jesse), Agnes Gallegos, Dominic Gallegos, Beverly Gallegos, Steven Gallegos, Amanda Gallegos, Jonathon Gonzales, Debra Gonzales, Mackenzie Gonzales, Kiana Gonzales and Ryan Gonzales, numerous cousins, other relatives and many, many, many friends.
Public visitation will be held from 9:00am-4:00pm at Rogers Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas, NM on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions only ten people at a time will be allowed in the Chapel and face masks are required.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be for immediate family only, and masks are required. Funeral mass will be live streamed on

Interment will be held at the Jordan Family Cemetery in Gallinas Canyon at 11:00am with the following as Pall Bearers, Jonathan Jordan, Gary Jordan, Tom C. Gonzales, Thomas Paul Trujillo, Frank Arguello, Ezekiel Jordan, Hunter Jordan and Estevan Gallegos. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be Ricky Armijo, Joey Herrera, Christian Montano, Norman Provost, Nathan Klein, Zachary Jordan, Brian Ortega, Aaron Gallegos, Sean Benavidez, Gracie Flitner and Joseph Armijo and all his nieces and nephews and close friends.
