With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Sylvia Garduño, a resident of Las Vegas, on October 2, 2026. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie, comadre, friend, and godmother.

Sylvia was born on February 4, 1953, to the late Vicente Jaramillo and Amalia Sisneros Jaramillo. Sylvia loved being a seamstress, an accountant, also dancing, camping, going for rides, and, of course, family gatherings. Family was everything to Sylvia.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente Jaramillo & Amalia Sisneros Jaramillo, her in-laws, Pete & Marilla Gertrude Garduño. Her daughter-in-law, Joyce Garduño, her brother, Henry Jaramillo, her sisters, Vicenta Lucero & Maria Cleotilde “Tillie” Jaramillo, her sisters-in-law, Theresa Jaramillo, her brothers-in-law, Paul Garduño, and numerous tias, tios, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, Peter Garduño, her daughter, Sonya Garduño, and her son, Julio Garduño. Her grandsons, whom she’s raised, Joshua (Andrea) & Ryan (Susie) Lucero. Her granddaughters, Reina Garduño & Alyssah Griego, her great-grandchildren, Micah, Kailyann, Izavella, Annaleah, & Avalyna. Her sister, Mary Sandoval, and her brothers, Nash & Pascual Jaramillo. Her sister-in-law, Barbara (Freddie), and brother-in-law, Christy (Lori) Garduño.

Rosary will be recited on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 10:00am funeral mass will follow both services will be recited at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Burial of cremains will be on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 10:30am at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
