Teresa L. Lucero, 77, was born on March 6, 1949, in Las Vegas, NM. She left this earth on July 23, 2026.

She is preceded in death by her father Alfredo G. Trujillo, her mother Aurora Trujillo late husband Albert D. Lucero, Sr., siblings Leo Trujillo, Mary Martinez, Elaine Berry, and Gilbert Trujillo. 

She is survived by her children Albert D. Lucero and wife Frances & daughter Jennifer Lucero-Berged and fiancé Estevan Ortega, and her significant other of many years, Raymond Vigil. She is also survived by her brothers Raymond Trujillo, formerly living in Sierra Vista, Arizona & Santiago Trujillo (Susie) who resides in Portland Oregon. Teresa is also survived by her brother-in-law, Pete Martinez of Santa Fe, NM.

She was very proud of  her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Teresa is survived by her grandchildren, Emiliano M. Berged, Marcos A. Lucero (Alysha Baca), Kristina Lucero-Martinez (Francisco “Kiko” Martinez), Anjelica Lucero (Matthew Baca), and Ariana Lucero. Her Great grandchildren Ayzlyn Martinez, Xavier Lucero, Andreus Martinez, Dominic Lucero, Izaias Martinez, Azaleya Lucero, Marcos Abran Lucero, Jr. Teresa is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She received her bachelor’s degree in English and Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Reading from New Mexico Highlands University. She worked for both Las Vegas City Schools and West Las Vegas Schools for thirty-eight years. She was dedicated, kind, loving, and empathetic to both colleagues & students. Teresa made lifelong friends with her colleagues. She was truly passionate about teaching. She truly made an impact on the community with her love for teaching.

The rosary for Teresa is Monday, August 10, 2026 @ 6:30pm and Tuesday, August 11, 2026 @ 10:00am, both are at Immaculate Conception Church, 811 Sixth Street Las Vegas, NM. Interment will follow funeral mass at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, 8th Street Extension. Flowers can be sent to Roger’s Funeral Home, or the family is accepting visitors at 706 Lee Drive.
