Theodore Carr, 63, was a resident of Las Vegas, NM. He died on January 24th 2024. Theodore was born July 5th 1960 to Edison Carr and Thelma Carr in Chicago IL. He joined the Air Force at the age of 18 where he had an illustrious career including countless awards to include two Meritorious Service Medals awarded for exemplary behavior. He joined the New Mexico State Police and ran for San Miguel County Sheriff. Combined, he had 35 years of public service. People who knew him would say he knew how to have a conversation with anyone. He never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father Edison Carr, his mother Thelma Carr, and his brother Edison Ford Carr Jr. Survivors include his wife, Silvia Elena Carr of Las Vegas, NM; two daughters Selina Carr-McEwen of Lake Ridge, VA and Jazmine (Chris) Valencia of Hershey, PA; two step-children Silvia Rivera of Las Vegas, NM and Victor Rivera (Fiancé Aubrey) of Thornton, CO; five grandchildren Sadorra McEwen of Lake Ridge, VA, Aubrey Valencia of Hershey, PA, Catalina Rivera - Silva of Carlsbad NM, Dean Rivera of Las Vegas, NM, and Axel of Thornton, CO; brother Wallace Barnes of Tylertown, MS; sisters Rachel Carr of Brooklyn, NY and Nicole Carr of Lafayette, IN; stepmother Anna Prestte' Carr of Carthage, MS.

Services will be held in Las Vegas, NM on February 9th and 9:30 AM at Cornerstone Church with Pastor James Vaughn as officiant followed by a procession and burial ceremony with military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 PM in Santa Fe, NM.
