Theresa M. Quintana
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Aunt and friend, Theresa M. Quintana, on October 8, 2026, following a brief illness.
Theresa was born on September 29, 1959, to Jose and Stella Larson. She loved spending time with her beloved family, running errands with her son and grandchildren. She was very involved in helping the community through fundraisers, helping distribute school supplies, Thanksgiving baskets and purchasing gifts for children and residents at the nursing home at Christmas time. She was an avid Bingo player. You could always find her at the Elks on Wednesday and Sunday nights sitting at the front table and attending Bingo fundraisers in Tecolote with her sister and nieces. Her memory will live on through the family she loved so much and through the people whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Stella Larson, husband Joe Quintana, brothers, Pat and Thomas Larson, sisters, Sylvia Baca, Juanita Gonzales and Dorothy Valerio.
She is survived by her only son, Steven Quintana and life-long partner Louie Mares. Grandchildren, Amber Taylor (Russell), Samantha Quintana, Steven Quintana, Jr. (Christina), Nathan Quintana, Kayne Quintana, Valentin Romero, Santos Mascarenas and Serenity Mascarenas; Great grandchildren, Genesis Rubio, David Rubio, Aniyah Esquibel-Taylor, Eli Taylor, Cruz Taylor, Tobias Taylor, Faith Trujillo and Julie Jaramillo; Sister, Louisa Montano (George), and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her granddaughter, Amber Taylor for caring for her in her final days and will serve as the Urn Bearer.
A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am, followed by a funeral mass on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. She will be laid to rest at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to and under the care of Rogers Mortuary, 600 Reynolds Avenue, Las Vegas, New Mexico.
