Tomas Jose Lopez

January 14, 1987 – May 15, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Tomas Jose Lopez on May 15, 2023, at the age of 36.

Tomas was born on January 14, 1987 to his late parents Yolanda Sandoval and Tommy Lopez.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Joaquin Gutierrez, as well as numerous other family members.

Tomas is survived by his three sons Camron Lopez (Deanna Baca), Collin Lopez, and Tomas Lopez Jr; Mothers of his children Lynnsey Vigil (Alyassea Vigil) and Kassandra Evans; Sisters Rhonda Salazar and Crystal Gutierrez; Nieces and Nephews, Jaime Salazar, Christina Sloniker, Mariah Gutierrez, Latisha Gutierrez, and Selena Gutierrez as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. He will also be survived and greatly missed by his chosen family and closest friends; Anna Garcia whom loved and elected to treat him as a second son and care for him as she does her own children. Valerie & Agelica Sanchez; Jacob Valencia; Deanna Hern; Jayce Lujan; and Jordan Archuleta; Helen, Sara, Victor, Tory along with the rest of his "El Sombrero Family"; Special friends Earl Lindsley, Raymond & Juanita Sanchez, and Joshua Romero.

Tomas was genuinely a kind soul that was very passionate about life and people that he loved and showed him love and acceptance. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that he could. He was a hard and dedicated worker that most times would put work first and did so with a smile on his face. He was quite the comedian and knew exactly how to lighten up the moment. He was one of a kind and had a spirit like no other. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. The memories of his life, humor, and love will be carried in our hearts forever.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 @ 9:30 am at

St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. The private burial of the cremains will take place at a later date.
