It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of beloved husband and father Valentito J. Montoya. Valentito passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025 at the age of 71. Valentito was preceded in death by his parents Horacio and Antonia Montoya, 3 Montoya siblings and his beloved son Eric Montoya. He is survived by 3 siblings, as well as nephews and nieces of the Montoya, Sedillo, Tafoya and Gonzales families.

Valentito was a devoted husband of 39 years to his wife Maria, a loving father to his son Eric and was a great "Papa T" to his step children Mary Frances, Christine and granddaughter Chloe (Placido).

Valentito was a lifelong resident of Las Vegas who never met a stranger. His family jokingly called him the unofficial Mayor of Las Vegas because he seemed to know everyone. He loved long Sunday drives, camping, fishing, yard sales, auctions, dancing and trips to the casino. He was also known for his sense of humor and "Dad jokes".

He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Please join us to celebrate his life.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 6:00pm at Rogers Mortuary Chapel. A second rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 9:30am funeral mass to follow with both services to be held at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora, NM  with Father Paul Grala S.O.L.T. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Teresita Cemetery in Turquillo, NM.
