With a heavy heart we share in the passing of Victor Abeyta Sr. 65. A lifelong resident of Las Vegas N.M. He was called to Our Lord on Thursday September 24th, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer. Victor was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. A devoted catholic and leader of the El Sociedad Del Hermitano.

Victor was born June 12, 1961, to Jose and Lorenza Abeyta of Los Vigiles New Mexico. One of 12 siblings, he was raised on the ranch and enjoyed riding horses, hunting, fishing, cutting lumber and anything that involved being outside. He loved dancing and gardening with his wife. Joking with his four children and anything that allowed him to spend time with his grandchildren and new great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose F. Abeyta, Laura Abeyta and Emilia Abeyta. As well as his brothers Jose Abeyta, James Abeyta, Gilbert Abeyta, Anthony Abeyta and Philip Ortiz. And his in-laws Abedon and Marcelina Ortiz.

Victor is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Josephine Abeyta. His children Victor Abeyta Jr, Joseph Abeyta (wife Nicole), Sabrina Abeyta and Alexis Abeyta, as well as his grandchildren Angelica Lopez, Zachary Abeyta, Trent Abeyta-Crespin, Tristan Abeyta, Tyler Abeyta, Layla Padilla and Brayden Abeyta. His siblings Velma Salazar (Max Salazar who has passed) Theresa Hernandez (Daniel Hernandez who has passed) Ralph Abeyta (Janet) Leticia and Lupe Padilla, Leroy and Loyda Abeyta, Gloria Abeyta, Kathy Abeyta (Jimmy Abeyta who has passed). Anthony and Jane Ortiz, Denise Ortiz, Ignacita Arranaga, Rose Lovato, Gabriel and Angelica Ortiz, Ralph Ortiz, Jeanette Griego (Carlos Griego who has passed) Viola and Robert Mondragon, Roseann Quintana. As well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Rosary service will be recited on October 19, 2026 at 7:00pm funeral mass will be recited on October 20, 2026 at 10:00am with Father James Sanchez as celebrant both services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM, Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM with the following serving as Pallbearers Angelica Lopez, Zachary Abeyta, Trent Abeyta-Crespin, Tristan Abeyta, Tyler Abeyta, Brayden Abeyta. Honorary Pallbearers Anthony Abeyta Guadalupe Padilla 3rd, Carlos Padilla, Layla Padilla.
