Viola Duran, 73, a longtime resident of Chacon, New Mexico passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on October 13, 1949 to Juan and Evangelina Duran.

Viola was a very active and lifetime member of the El Rito Presbyterian Church in Chacon, NM. She loved to cook and enjoyed reading and was a graduate of Menaul High School.

She is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Evangelina.

She is survived by her aunts and uncles, Elias (Virginia) Duran from Chacon, NM; Floyd Duran from Denver, CO and Frances Mares from Rio Rancho, NM. Along with numerous first cousins and many friends.

Services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at El Rito Presbyterian Church in Chacon, New Mexico. Burial will follow immediately after services at El Rito Presbyterian Cemetery with the following serving as Pallbearers; Isaac Duran, Henry Maestas, Eulalio Duran, Ismael Duran, Jake Lovato and Bert Romero.
