Vivian T. Oliver Jaramillo, age 74, passed away on April 19, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 24, 1952 in Guadalupita, New Mexico to Tom Oliver and Theresa Martinez.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents. Donaciana (Mama) Vigil, and Frank Martinez. Paternal grandmother Ezra Halloway, brothers, Tim Oliver and Tom Blair, sister, Florence Velasquez, mother and father-in-law Pedro and Margarita Jaramillo.
Vivian is survived by her husband, Henry Jaramillo, sons, Kenny Jaramillo (Casie), Kevin (Vera) Jaramillo and Kraig Jaramillo (Maria), grandchildren, Markus Jaramillo, Aspen Jaramillo and Jewel Jaramillo, sisters, Lupe Padilla (Floyd) and Bertha Armijo (Frank), special cousins, Pablita and Margaret, special nephews, nieces, cousins and many many friends.
She graduated from Roberston High School in 1971 and then attended Luna Vocational Technical institute and studied accounting and business courses.
She married the love of her life Henry in 1971. She worked at TG&Y and McRoy’s, she worked at Walmart when the store had first opened from 1989-2008. Vivian also worked as a Department Manager from 1989-1998 then later went to work in the vision center where she worked closely with the doctor as a tech.
Vivian loved to travel as much as she could, she traveled to many states but New Mexico was her favorite, she loved festival events, international museums, one favorite pass time was going and renting a big cabin in the mountains with her family in Pagosa Springs, Chama and Ruidoso. She was close to doing the zip line but covid hit.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, she also loved shopping with her grandchildren Jewel her granddaughter shopper like her grandma, Aspen her granddaughter is a pretty good artist like her grandma, Markus her grandson is very smart, quiet and sweet like his grandma. She was very proud of her grandchildren and sons for everything they accomplished and how they were hard workers and well known. Vivian had so many friends. La Bendicion was Very powerful and meaning prayer her mother gave her and her sisters Vivian continued to do that for her family.
Vivian and Henry traveled together to many places she loved homemade cherry and chocolate chip pies also loved discovering small villages. She lived a very well and comfortable life full of love, joy and happiness she was spoiled by her husband and sons.
Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 6:00pm. Funeral mass will be on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 9:00am both services will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Rob Yaksich. Interment will be at St. Anthony Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
