Wilfred Sanchez age 78, a longtime resident of Las Vegas NM, passed away on Monday September11th, 2023 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born in Santa Fe NM on December 25, 1944 to Aquilino Sanchez and Dolores Valdez.

Wilfred was a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He enjoyed playing music and always enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents Aquilino Sanchez and Dolores Valdez, brothers; Joe and Bernard Sanchez, Sister Mary Vigil, and grandson Angel Sanchez.

He is survived by his wife Bessie, Son Greg (wife Tiffany), grandsons; Greg Jr. and Derek Sanchez, special nephew Steven Gallegos, brothers; Larry (wife Stella), Phil, Jr. and Gilbert Sanchez (wife Lourdes), sisters; Cleo Holt (Harold), Theresa Louton (Michael), Geraldine Sanchez, Cecilia O'Neil, sisters in law; Theresa Gallegos, Judy Gallegos, brother in law Carlos Gallegos (wife Bernadette), and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A rosary will be recited on Sunday September17th, 2023 at 6:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Cameron at 9:00am on Monday September 18, 2023.

Burial will take place at 10:00am on Tuesday September19th, 2023 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
