William James Esquibel also known as Willie or Brother Wild to some, age 62 of
Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away in his home in Las Vegas, New Mexico on November 26, 2024. He was born May 30, 1962 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Ted and Emma Esquibel (Martinez).
William grew up in Cheyenne, WY where he attended Central High School and worked for the State of Wyoming. In 2007 he moved to New Mexico and was employed by the State of New Mexico until he recently retired.
He was known for always helping family & friends, had a great personality and could do any home project known to man. He was a huge 49ers fan, loved his true crime & horror movies and was an avid reader. His dream was to build his new home on his land in Rociada, NM.
William is survived by his parents, Ted and Emma Esquibel; siblings, Danny Esquibel, Les Esquibel, Esther Gerrish and husband Donald, & Jovita Kloess and husband Bryan; children, Andrew Medina, Michael Medina, David Medina, Michelle Esquibel, Erica Esquibel & Ashley Esquibel; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins.
William is preceded in death by his grandparents, Juan and Senorina Martinez, Sigfredo Esquibel, Edward and Esther Gutierrez.
A rosary will be held on Dec. 9, 2024, at 6 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Las Vegas, NM.
The funeral for William will be held the following day on Dec. 10, 2024, at 9 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church followed by the burial at San Jose cemetery in upper Rociada, NM with the following serving as Pallbearers: Les Esquibel, Anthony Martinez, Louis Martinez, Anthony Fox, Cesar Salinas, Gabe Benavidez & Freddy Cisneros.
