Eutimio C. Salazar, age 84 passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at his home in San Ignacio , NM.
He was born in San Ignacio, NM on February 2, 1929 to the late Pedro Salazar and Carmelita Lucero-Salazar.
Eutimio was united in marriage at San Ignacio, NM to the late Beneranda Maria Salazar in March 1951. He was a ranch foreman for approximately 30 years working for Rancho San Ignacio, an Arabian Horse Ranch, until his retirement. Prior to working in Rancho San Ignacio, he had a self-owned logging and sawmill business that he and family operated for many years.. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend too many.
Eutimio will be remembered as a prideful, humble family man, who was hardworking and always provided for his family. He instilled respect, caring and strong family values to all who knew him. He enjoyed family gatherings, and loved the outdoors. In his younger days, his favorite pass times were horseback riding, hunting, fishing and raising cattle at his ranch.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Pedro and Carmelita Salazar; sister: Nicolacita Solano; grandson in-law whom passed away the same day: Demcy Romero, Jr.

Rosary services were held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 7:00pm at San Ignacio Church in San Ignacio, NM and on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 9:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow at San Ignacio Cemetery in San Ignacio, NM with the following serving as Casket Bearers: Gene Salazar, Roger Salazar, Nicholas Salazar, Jesse Marquez, David Salazar, Leroy Salazar, Julian Marquez, Phillip Salazar, Melecio Perea, Zachary Armijo and Aaron Salazar. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be all his remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
