Leroy Duran, age 78, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in Las Vegas, NM.

He was born on December 25, 1942 to Jose Asencion Duran and Ramoncita Gonzales in Las Vegas, NM.

He enjoyed working with wood painting and remodeling homes. He enjoyed spending time and doing things for his family. He enjoyed watching western movies and going to the casino.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Felix Duran and Eddie Duran; sisters: Julia Duran and Maria Elena Montoya; daughter: Judith Duran- Ortega; granddaughter: Judanna Duran- Ortega.

Leroy is survived by his children: Chris Duran (Sara) and JoAnn Gastelum (Gregorio) both of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren: Marina (Chris), Maribella, Miranda, Gregorio, Jesus, Joycelyn, Jovanna, Robert II, Leroy, Julia, Yvonne and Damian; great-grandson: Damian; sister and brothers: Dolores Martinez, Gilbert Duran both of Las Vegas, NM and Fermin Duran (Isabel) of Fremont, CA; sister-in-law's: Rita Duran and Corine Duran of Albuquerque, NM; special friends: Christine Ortega- Garcia and Mary F. Otero both of Las Vegas, NM; caregivers: Angela and Lisa; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 9:00am at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. Funeral mass will follow rosary with Father George V. Salazar as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as Pallbearers Robert Ortega II, Leroy Ortega, Julia Ortega, Alex Duran, Yvonne Ortega, Enrico Archuleta, Eloy Lujan, Andrew Duran Levi Archuleta and Wyesse "Pinkie" Dominguez. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his nieces and nephews.
