Robert "Doug" Martinez, age, 72 a lifetime resident of Mora, NM passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on July 18, 1950 to Francisco M. Martinez and Dolores Pino Martinez in Mora, NM.

He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Robert was a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora, NM.

Robert worked for many years for Sierra Transit alongside his brother Albert and many friends. He also did home health care for several years.

Doug was an avid sports supporter. He enjoyed watching the Mora Rangers and Rangerettes especially when his son Joshua played basketball and baseball, also Robert loved to watch his favorite teams the Raiders, Lakers and Yankees. Doug enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Anyone that knew Doug was touched by his kindness, friendship and humor. Doug will be greatly missed.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents: Francisco and Maria Dolores Pino; maternal grandparents: Antonio Jesus Pino and Perfecta Maes Pino; paternal grandparents: Francisco Martinez Sr. and Louisita Romo Martinez; brother: Frank J. Martinez; brother-in-law's: Ronald Gonzales and Rudy Montoya; father-in-law: George William Duran.

He is survived by his wife: Annette E. Duran- Martinez of Buena Vista, NM; children: Joshua Martinez (Francine) of Buena Vista, NM, Claudia Martinez (Rio) of Wagon Mound, NM and Eric Duran (Katrina) of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Jesse and Jonah; brothers and sisters: David Martinez (Margaret) of El Alto, NM;, Antonio Pino (Debra), Mell Pino both of Las Vegas, NM, Mary Louise Montoya, Albert Martinez (Patsy), Cathy Gonzales and Leroy Martinez all of El Alto, NM; mother-in-law: Velma Duran of Buena Vista, NM; sister-in-law's: Bernadine Duran of Rio Rancho, NM, Cleo Montoya (David) of Rainsville, NM and Sally Valdez of El Alto, NM; brother-in-law's:  Larry Duran (Esther) of Mora, NM, Ronald Duran (Cecilia) of Buena Vista, NM, Mario Duran (Amy) of Mora, NM and George Duran Jr. of Buena Vista, NM; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 7:00pm at St. Gertrude Church in Mora, NM.

Funeral mass will be conducted on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Gertrude Church.

Cremation has taken place and burial of cremains will be at the Mora Cemetery in Mora, NM.
